Care for the things you have
We believe that taking care of the things we own is most environmentally friendly way to behave, especially when it has already taken so many natural resources to be produced.
Vegetable tanned leather is a material with many natural characteristics, like wood, that ages beautifully and gains a desired vintage look. The colours get darker and with use, the surface develops a unique shine called patina. The process of leather ageing can be quickened but it is not possible to avoid.
The basic concept of leather care is to always test the leather care product on less noticed area before applying it to all over the product. We recommend using a leather wax or cream with no colour and apply it with an applicator or clean and soft cloth in circular motion on the surface of the product and then use another clean cloth to remove the excess.
Please keep in mind that due to being a natural material, continuous direct sunlight can cause rapid change in colour, especially on lighter shades of leathers and bright colours. Natural vegetable tanned leather is especially sensitive to sunlight and moisture, so we recommend using a water repellent spray on it once in a while to avoid stains and water marks, especially on light, hand-painted and bright coloured leathers.
If your bag gets wet, please avoid rubbing the area and let it air dry, away from heat sources.
Typically our products are well made and the components we use are reliable but if something breaks within 2 years from the date of purchase or it you need some care or repair advice, please let us know.
Used products can be returned to our store for recycling.
